The calendar for the next few months is fuller than usual, and three of these need booking. Here is what is coming, in order, with the things you actually need to know.

December

The Holiday Craft Fair takes over the hall on the twenty-second, eleven until three. Thirty stalls this year, up from eighteen, and the waiting list for a table is closed. Free entry, and the raffle proceeds go to the hall accessibility fund.

Neighborhood Cleanup Day is on the fifteenth, ten until four. Bags, gloves and grabbers are provided; sturdy shoes are not. Meet at the park gate.

January

The Annual Community Picnic is on the sixteenth. Yes, in January — this is the winter one, indoors, and it has quietly become better attended than the summer version. Bring a dish if you can; there is a list on the notice page so we do not end up with eleven lasagnes again.

Later in the year

  • Outdoor Yoga, from June, every other Sunday morning in the park. All abilities; mats can be borrowed.
  • Movie Night Under the Stars, in May, once the evenings are long enough. The film is chosen by vote in April.
  • The Winter Wonderland Festival, next July for reasons nobody can now reconstruct.

If you only make it to one thing this year, make it the January picnic. It is the one where you actually get to talk to people.

Booking and updates

Everything free is turn-up-and-go. For the three that need a place, the links are on the events page, and dates occasionally move — the events page is always right, and this post may not be.
